Good morning,

A reminder that all drivers accessing Port of Auckland (POAL) must hold a valid POAL induction by 30 September 2025. Drivers without a valid induction will no longer be able to access POAL facilities.

Please encourage your drivers to complete their induction by the deadline. While the valid induction is required by 30 September, the deadline for collecting POAL Security Access Cards has been extended until 31 October – we request that drivers collect their security access cards as soon as possible.

To avoid any issues after 30 September, please ensure your drivers have:

  • A current Authority to Work (ATW) permit
  • A valid POAL induction
  • A POAL Security Access Card

If your drivers do not yet have a POAL access card, they can collect one from the ATW Office on Tinley Street.

To be eligible for a Security Access Card:

  • The driver must have a valid POAL induction – ‘Accessing Port of Auckland’
  • A $100.00 + GST fee applies
  • Valid photo ID (driver’s license or passport) must be presented at collection

The Port Access Office is open Monday to Friday, 0600–1730 hours and can assist with Authority to Work enquiries and Security Access Card collection.

If you want to arrange for the Security Access Card to be processed prior to arrival, please send through to [email protected] on completion of the POAL induction and we will process the access cards for you to collect.

  • Passport style photo (JPEG)
  • Drivers licence or Passport
