🚦 Overall Operational Status
Overall port operations are running well. We started our eGate trial at the Container Terminal this week with just a few trucks and will ramp this up over the next few weeks. More on that below.
We have seen a few late arrivals in the Container Terminal which will have some flow on effects with cargo movements.
The marine team have worked solidly through different weather events and are working to accommodate the variability in ship schedules.
eGate:
Reminder that eGate is available for all carriers to use in the empty yard for LINK or empty export drop offs. eGate is not yet available for an empty pick up. eGate training manuals can be found here. Contact Drivers Assist on 0800 767 800 or [email protected] for support with eGate or to get set up.
We are currently in trial phase for Fergusson Terminal main gate.
- The trial involves a limited number of carriers as we test to ensure that the eGate system is functioning as intended.
- After the trial, we plan to move to a soft rollout phase, gradually onboarding more carriers to use eGate for the Fergusson Terminal, similar to our implementation of eGate in the Empty Yard.
đźšš Multi-Cargo (MC) Operations
Container/Breakbulk berths and yard are at 80% capacity, expected to remain so for the rest of the week.
Car volume in the yard is currently at 10% capacity and will increase to 95% over the weekend and early into next week.
âš Safety Notice:
As part of Port of Auckland’s continued focus on safety, we’ve been encouraging truck drivers to pain their truck pins to help improve visibility for our straddle drivers. Painted pin make a real difference in keeping operations safe and efficient.
To support this, some of our port team will be at the Fergusson Container Terminal truck exchange this Thursday 15 May from 8am to 10am, offering free truck pin painting for drivers. You’ll find the team set up between truck lanes 10 and 11, feel free to stop by and get your pins painted while you’re at the port.
