🏗 Container Terminal Update
We are in one of our high demand seasons with some window performance issues which are being driven by a combination of workforce availability challenges. These are particularly heightened during the school holiday period. This is creating pressure across our operations and as a result, we will have extended processing times & delays.

Our teams are working hard to manage these challenges by adjusting rosters, prioritising critical areas, and collaborating closely with partners to minimise disruption. We apologise for the inconvenience and disruption during this period and remain committed to keeping you updated and ensuring your cargo moves as smoothly safely as possible.  We are committed to meeting expectations and getting our windows back on track as soon as possible.

eGate:
We have successfully trialled eGate at select Fergusson gates, including the Empty Yard Gate and Fergusson Main Gate
From Wednesday, 1 October 2025, eGate will be live across all Fergusson Main Gates for all carriers.

We are hosting online sessions(w/c Monday 29 September) via Microsoft Teams to help onboard your teams. To register for a session, register here: https://www.surveyhero.com/c/eGateonlineregistration.
eGate training manuals can be found here.

Important access requirement deadline

A reminder that all drivers accessing Port of Auckland (POAL) must hold a valid POAL induction by 30 September 2025. Drivers without a valid induction will no longer be able to access POAL facilities.

Please encourage your drivers to complete their induction by the deadline. While the valid induction is required by 30 September, the deadline for collecting POAL Security Access

Cards has been extended until 31 October – we request that drivers collect their security access cards as soon as possible.

🚚 Fergusson Terminal R & D
Due to low demand for VBS bookings, Fergusson Container Terminal R&D will have kiosk only operation from 1900 Saturday to 0700 Sunday.

Trucking companies will need to ensure that any trucks arriving during the kiosk only operation time have:

  • Containers expressed pinned for use of the pre-gate kiosks located in the Fergusson truck park.
  • If using e-Gate, the driver app is on and front facing for both geo fences when heading to the port.
  • Hazardous
    • Exports, email Hazardous Certificates to Driver Assist before 1800 hours Saturday evening and advise that these are for night delivery so we can have someone to take their drivers call off site.
    • Imports, supply their drivers with Hazardous Certificates.

🚚 Multi-Cargo (MC) Operations
Container/Breakbulk berths and yard are at 25% capacity and will increase to 100% with container and steel operations this week.

Car volume in the yard is currently at 40% capacity and is expected to increase to 100% by the end of this week with four car vessel expected from now to Sunday.

Preparation work for Bledisloe North Wharf constructure is in full swing.  There are some light poles being repositioned in the area and the northern operational roadway has been re-aligned & painted.

Please take extra care if you are in this area and keep to the speed limits. Safety first!

⚠Safety Notice:
Disengaging of truck pins:

  • Reminder that drivers must check that their twistlocks have been fully disengaged and chains have been released for any container being uplifted at POAL
  • Not doing so, can cause damage to both your trucks and our hoists. To eliminate this risk please remind your drivers to undo their twist locks in the Driver Safety Zones (DSZ)
