At our November 2024 Town Halls, we received feedback on our billing and invoicing processes. Specifically, around port access and Vehicle Booking System (VBS) charges being invoiced by two separate suppliers: Port of Auckland Limited (POAL) for the access fee and Containerchain for the VBS booking, cancellation and no-show fees.
Following this feedback, we engaged further with the transport community to explore opportunities to simplify the process. As shared at the May 2025 Town Halls, we have been working in partnership with Containerchain to consolidate these charges into a single invoice. From 1 July 2025, all port access and VBS-related charges will be invoiced by Port of Auckland.
While the invoice process is changing, the actual charges remain unchanged through to 31 December 2025.

What this means for you:
From 1 July 2025, Port of Auckland will continue to issue your weekly VBS invoice, which will now also include the $10 booking fee (previously invoiced by Containerchain this will now show as $0 on Containerchain site). Any applicable cancellation or no-show fees will also be charged by Port of Auckland Limited along with the respective booking fee.
Your payment terms with Port of Auckland Limited remain unchanged with invoices due on the 20th of the following month.
