Gary joined Port of Auckland in 2020, with the mandate to enhance the port's IT team's effectiveness in digitally enabling the organisation's overall business strategy. He brings nearly 40 years of IT experience – before joining the port, Gary had a number of senior technology leadership responsibilities for Westpac NZ, worked as a General Manager at Datacom, and spent seven years in a variety of roles for IBM. In his role of General Manager Digital, Gary is focused on ensuring that the port makes optimum use of digital technologies, pursuing a continuous cycle of ongoing innovation and improvement to help the port to meet and exceed the expectations of its customers and stakeholders.
