The road exchanges serve terminal and multi-cargo customers, as well as on-wharf empty depots and vehicle imports.

A Vehicle Booking System (VBS) for the Port of Auckland container terminal facilitates a fast, streamlined truck/ship transfer at world-class service levels.

Rail Exchange

A vital link in the inland transport and logistics chain, our four parallel rail lines – each 500 metres long – can accommodate 128 wagons at one time for the loading and discharge of containers. Container exchange is facilitated by heavy lift machinery including straddle carriers and reach stackers.

The rail exchange connects the Waitematā seaport with the Port of Auckland freight hubs.

Pack/Unpack

While Port of Auckland doesn't directly offer on-wharf pack/unpack services, we work with third-party operators on the port who can provide these services. Visit here for more information.
