Round The Bays R&D hours

Please be advised that road closures will be in place to facilitate the Round the Bays on Sunday 28 February 2021 and ensure the safety of all parties. At the same time POAL will be utilising this time period to facilitate an IT system update as well as important infrastructure work across the port.

This will necessitate the closure of the Container Terminal to all R&D and shipside operations. Trucks will not be serviced at Fergusson Terminal on Sunday 28 February from 0500 hours to 1900 hours. Last truck will be processed at 0415 hours (0300 hour VBS bookings). R&D operations will resume 19:00 hours on Sunday.

Multi Cargo R&D is closed Sunday. Please see below Fergusson R&D hours for the Round the Bays weekend:

222222222.JPGIT system maintenance has been planned to take place during Round the Bays while road closures are in place to reduce the impact to transporters and overall operations. IF Round the Bays event is cancelled or postponed as a consequence of COVID-19 alerts this outage will still proceed.

We will extend import demurrage free time by 1 additional day for those vessels, that will depart between 24 and 28 of February. Further details will be provided closer to the date of the event. Hazardous Storage allowable time remains the same. If you have specific containers that are urgently required, please contact the Transport Co-ordinators to review what options may be available. Please contact Customer Service if you have a Dangerous Goods container query or special request.

Tinley Street

On Sunday 28 February Quay Street will be closed from 0730-1200 hrs by Stuff Events and Auckland Transport for Round the Bays. This is for public safety. There is around 30,000 people expected to gather on Quay Street.

This means that trucks cannot cross into or out of Tinley Street from 0730 hours. However, as Ports of Auckland are an event sponsor, we have negotiated special exemptions. Only once it is safe to do so, the on-site traffic management team will facilitate truck movements into and out of Tinley Street. This port only access will not be before 1030 hrs (1.5 hours before the road re-opens).

Please consider this when planning your movements for the day.

Thank you to The Round The Bays team who have been accommodating and opening the road early for port operations!
