From September 1st 2022, people carrying out work at Ports of Auckland will no longer be able to sign in as a "visitor" at the Tinley St entrance.
If you are carrying out work on the port you are not a visitor, you are a worker, and are therefore subject to different requirements.
From this date anyone who enters the Ports of Auckland to work must complete all applicable mandatory inductions and obtain a port access card before they come to site.
WhyTo comply with the HSWA 2015, inductions are used to inform workers of the hazards, risks and controls on the port and are a requirement under the POAL's Safety and Wellbeing Policy.
Types of Access CardsThe port access card is used to meet POAL's statutory obligations, monitor who is on site and manage compliance with inductions.There are two types of port access cards:
