Multi-Cargo R&D Operating Hours Update

As many customers will be aware our Multi-Cargo division is experiencing significant volume demand across all aspects of the operation. Car volumes are very strong with high number of oversized vehicles, container volumes have remained strong with the added challenges of schedule volatility resulting in vessel bunching and bulk and breakbulk shipments are also up.

This is placing the operating footprint under immense strain and requires all parties to work together and be understanding of the demand profile that is being put on the facility overall.

To assist in ensuring goods are moving as freely through the facility as possible we have made the decision to staff our Multi Cargo R&D window on Sundays to facilitate the movement of cargo 7 days a week.

The port R&D window records the receipt and delivery of containerised cargoes transacted by the 3rd party stevedores who operate on behalf of the shipping lines. The R&D function will still need to be carried out by the Shipping Lines nominated Stevedore so we recommend contacting your shipping line to enquire if they will be offering Sunday R&D.

Ports of Auckland Multi Cargo R&D hours from Sunday 11 July will be:

  • Monday – Friday 07:00 – 23:00
  • Saturday & Sunday 07:00 – 15:00

A reminder our import Demurrage tariff definitions are noted below for ease of reference.
