Good day Everyone

In view of the changes to Maritime Border Order (MBO) that come into effect at 11:59PM on Monday 2
nd May 2022, please note following changes for crew shore leave process at Ports of Auckland Limited (POAL).

Going forward please discontinue sending us the "COVID – 19 Maritime Entry Form" and "The Crew Transfer form"
Please follow below guidelines and advise ships staff accordingly.

SHORE LEAVE IN AUCKLAND – Coastal vessels

  1. Shore leave permitted for coastal vessels coming in from another NZ Port.
  2. Ship staff not permitted in POAL Security Vans, however, security vans will escort the transport provided by agents to and from the vessel.
  3. All PPE and other guidelines from authorities to be followed by ship's staff going ashore

In case the situation changes the POAL will review the above requirements.

SHORE LEAVE IN AUCKLAND – International vessels
Conditions required to be met

  1. All crew on board must be healthy and not show any symptoms of COVID-19.
  2. Free pratique must be granted to the vessel.
  3. If crew wish to go ashore, contact Customs who will deliver RAT's to the ship.
  4. All crew that wish to go ashore must carry out a self-administered RAT on board and the Master must record the results. Shore leave can be taken if the RAT test is negative.   A copy of the results (photo of test result and crew passport) is to be emailed to [email protected]
  5. If the RAT is positive, then the crew member must remain on the ship as must all other crew who are then deemed 'household contacts'. All crew must then wear Covid-19 PPE (Mask) when interacting with stevedores and Pilots etc and no shore leave is permitted.
  6. Ship staff not permitted in POAL Security Vans, however, security vans will escort the transport provided by agents to and from the vessel.
  7. All PPE and other guidelines from authorities must be followed by ship's staff going ashore

For crew changes at POAL

Please note we will require following:
