Our Waitematā terminals

We have configured our operational areas to support four main trades at the Waitematā sea port:

  • The Fergusson Container Terminal.  Based on Fergusson Wharf
  • Multi Cargo: bulk and breakbulk cargo operations. Primarily uses Jellicoe, Fryberg, Bledisloe wharves
  • Multi Cargo: Roll on Roll off operations. Primarily uses Bledisloe and Captain Cook wharves
  • Cruise: Primarily uses Princes and Queens wharves

This structure supports operational efficiencies.

Our freight hubs

To better serve our customers and make it as easy as possible for them to get their goods to market, we have developed a network of inland freight hubs. Our freight hub network enables us to increase our use of rail, improving sustainability and generating infrastructure savings at a national level.

Our network of freight hubs allows customers to pick up their imports and drop off their exports at their nearest hub and we do the rest, sustainably linking Kiwi importers and exporters to the rest of the world. Our freight hubs are located at Wiri in South Auckland and the Waikato Freight Hub at Northgate Horotiu. Nexus Logistics, manages the South Auckland Freight Hub.

These hubs all operate as an open platform, available to all stakeholders in the supply chain and offering regional exporters a seamless, flexible service to overseas markets.
