New VBS at POAL’s Fergusson Container Terminal and LINK Facility

It was announced in September 2020 that Containerchain's solutions will be implemented across Ports of Auckland operations consisting of the vehicle booking system (VBS) and eGate/Driver products.

The first stage of implementation will be the change in the VBS system at Fergusson Container Terminal and Empty Yard facilities in July 2021.

We know a number of transport operators are already familiar with Containerchain VBS operations at Metroport Auckland and KiwiRail's Southdown facility and we expect change to be a straightforward transition and do not expect training to take long, timing of training will be communicated  closer to go-live.

Access to Containerchain VBS

There will be no change to our current operations with regards to driver induction requirements.  Transporters will also be required to accept the Carrier Access Agreement ("CAA") published through the Containerchain system before any VBS bookings can be made.

Transport operators who already have a Containerchain account will need only to log-in to the Containerchain website and go to the list of operational sites within New Zealand who use their VBS product, and accept the CAA for the Ports of Auckland facilities. If you already hold a Containerchain account, you will receive a broadcast message from Containerchain advising when Ports of Auckland Carrier Access Agreement documentation is available to access.

For transport operators, who do not hold a current Containerchain account, please go to the Containerchain website and register as a new user.  Once registered, follow the same process described above.

All transport operators who require access to Fergusson Container Terminal and or Empty Yard for the purpose of delivering or collecting containers will be required to have a Containerchain account to make valid bookings.

Further advisories detailing terms of entry, booking slots and fees will be sent out over the next 3 months.
