Ports
of Auckland Round the Bays has been an annual event in Auckland since 1972 and
has grown to be one of the world's largest fun runs, with nearly 40,000
registered runners and an estimated 70,000 participants.
The
run is 8.4km long and follows the contours of Auckland's Waitematā Harbour,
starting near our port on Quay Street and finishing in St Heliers. The fun
run supports a number of charities in our community. In 2020, proceeds benefited Abilities Incorporated, John Walker Find Your Field of Dreams Foundation, Refugees as Survivors New Zealand, and Youthline.
