Handling of Hazardous Cargo

Hazardous Materials Response Unit

All ports have a variety of cargo passing through, some of which are hazardous.

When handling such cargo, it is important to follow set procedures to avoid accidents.

The Ports of Auckland Hazardous Cargo Procedures and quick reference guide can be found under Operational procedures and policies on the shipping and cargo page.

Axis and POAL websites to be integrated

Ports of Auckland is working towards integrating all Axis functionalities within the Ports of Auckland website.

As such, over the next month you will be able to access all information you previously obtained from the Axis-Intermodal website on the Ports of Auckland site.

Do take some time out to familiarise yourself with the Ports of Auckland website.

Bunkering service update

Awanuia

In August 2009, we welcomed the new Seafuels bunker tanker, ensuring ongoing provision of bunkers to our shipping line customers.

The Awanuia has been successfully shuttling between Marsden Point refinery and the Ports of Auckland, with the bunkering service proving popular.
