New appointment: CONLINXX CEO

Reinhold Goeschl

Reinhold Goeschl has been confirmed as the new Chief Executive Officer of CONLINXX Limited.

CONLINXX was established in February this year to manage the Ports of Auckland’s 10ha freight hub in Wiri, South Auckland. Mr Goeschl has been leading the CONLINXX management team since that time.

CONLINXX Chairman and Ports of Auckland Managing Director, Jens Madsen says that he is delighted that Mr Goeschl has accepted the CEO appointment.

“Around 70% of the containers that come through the Auckland seaport either originate from or end up within a 10 kilometre radius of the Wiri Freight Hub so it occupies an important strategic place in the regional supply chain,” said Mr Madsen.

Bananas find a new home at Multi Cargo facility

Multi Cargo

The sale of Queens Wharf and its handover to the government in April this year meant that banana shipments that discharged there needed to be accommodated at the Multi Cargo facility on Jellicoe wharf.

Since April three ships have been serviced at the northern end of Jellicoe.

The transition has been smooth and the fruit cargo is now initially discharged in Shed 7 before being transported to the consignee's cold store within 12 to 16 hours of discharge.

Price Schedule change

As per POAL’s Customer Advisory notice dated December 2009, the new Price Schedule will take effect as of 1 July 2010.

Terminal management system update

Signing Ceremony

Ports of Auckland is underway with a major project to introduce a new terminal management system.

On Monday 10 May, Total Soft Bank’s (TSB) Chairman and Chief Operating Officer signed a Master Services Agreement with POAL.

The project will rationalise the existing multiple systems into one single best practice solution.

A forum comprising representatives from the transporters, freight forwarders and shipping lines has been established to collaborate on the design of the processes and systems.

It is expected that stage one of the project will be implemented in early 2011.
