InterACT open forum
Training for Ports of Auckland's new electronic cargo management tool, InterACT, has gone well. We have commenced Open Forum sessions to demonstrate the use of the platform. These sessions have been well frequented. The next Open Forum will be held in the Ports of Auckland Building on Tuesday 11 May at 14h00. Multi cargo volumes recovering strongly
The past few months have seen a steady recovery in vehicle and break bulk imports at the Ports of Auckland. In the past quarter vehicle imports have increased by 21.2% on the same time last year. Break bulk tonnage has also increased by 9.5% over last year's performance. This is a very encouraging trend for Multi Cargo. |

Technology helps reduce straddle damage
Last year Ports of Auckland invested in Sattel, a GPS system with impact sensors, for all of our straddle carriers. Sattel has functioned as a quality and safety management tool over the past eight months, reducing the number of straddle accidents considerably. As a result of this initiative, the cost of repair of accident damage for the eight months since we have been running Sattel has reduced by almost a staggering 78% - a fantastic result. | |||
