An important update from Ports of Auckland

Introduction of Business Rules at Ports of Auckland

In consultation with our Business User Reference Group, we are introducing two new business rules for the delivery and loading of full export containers to Fergusson and Bledisloe container terminals, effective 1 August 2010.

Business rules are designed to enable better forward planning, to optimise the use of our container terminal space and avoid excessive container moves. In recent years we have experienced significant growth in container volumes, coupled with larger vessels and container exchanges. Better planning will be of enormous benefit to all our customers and the wider supply chain.

The new business rules include:
1. CEDO not received latest two hours prior to vessel's ETA
2. Containers delivered late

Please click here for documentation on our website which outlines the rules and processes effective August 1, 2010.

POAL’s Shipment Management System, InterACT, will enable line operators and exporters to identify containers at risk of not being loaded and that will incur costs.

These new procedures will bring practices at Ports of Auckland into line with other leading international ports, and we look forward to your cooperation in helping to create a world‐class export supply chain for New Zealand.

Please do not hesitate to contact either Craig or Richard with regard to any clarification on the above.
