Demurrage Extension for Imports through Fergusson Terminal

We appreciate the freight community working with us through this extended import peak season

Good Afternoon,

We appreciate the freight community working with us through this extended import peak season and would like to take the opportunity to wish you all a happy and safe holiday season.

Average dwell times for import containers in December has come back to 2.9 days from 3.6 days in September.  There is still a need to restore averages to 2.2 days or lower which we were experiencing during the first half of 2018.

We have been managing the balance of the shipside and road side operations and once again would like to express our appreciation of the efforts the road transport community is making in managing within the limits of our respective operations.

In acknowledge of the ongoing pressures in the supply chain and our own limitations, we have decided to continue to extend the demurrage free time period by another day (ie 4 days after the completion of discharge) for all vessels until 31 January 2019.  The Public Holidays of 25 and 26 December and 1 and 2 January are also demurrage free days.

There will be no extra free time for DG containers or active reefer containers which should be prioritised.

It is critical that we continue to focus on clearing containers off port as quickly as possible and we will re-evaluate again in late January to consider the position from 1st February 2019.

As always, please contact the Customer Service Team for issues you may have with specific containers.
