Ports of Auckland employs a large and diverse workforce, with specialists representing all areas from the container terminals to IT and finance.

Ports of Auckland is governed by a seven-strong Board of Directors, whose members bring in-depth industry experience and business knowledge, while the executive management team of nine oversees and manages day-to-day operations and long-term projects.
Overall, the Company employs approximately 540 full time equivalent staff in a diverse range of occupations. The majority of our team works in or around the container terminals and in the supporting engineering, transport and marine service departments. There is also a strong corporate group, comprising highly skilled IT specialists, finance staff and other professionals.

Around three-quarters of our staff members work shifts, keeping the business running 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
